EAGLES ACTIVATE PUNTER BRENT KERN FOR TODAY’S SAINTS GAME

By Max Harper

The Eagles elevated punter Brett Kern from the practice squad for today’s Saints game at the Linc.

Kern was signed to the practice squad on December 13 after Arryn Siposs suffered an ankle injury against the Giants. This will be Kern’s third elevation from the practice squad. He will have to be signed to the active roster if the Eagles want to utilize him in Week 18 against the Giants.

A three-time Pro Bowl selection with the Titans, Kern made his Eagles debut on December 18 at Chicago and punted twice, averaging 45 gross yards and 33 net yards. He did not record a punt last Saturday against the Cowboys.

Kern has also served as the holder for kicker Jake Elliott in the previous two games.
