If you are like most Eagles fans, you are on the edge of your seat to watch quarterback Sam Bradford in game action.
You’ll have to wait another week.
Eagles head coach Chip Kelly announced today that Bradford, coming back from his second torn ACL, will not play in Sunday’s preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts at Lincoln Financial Field.
Mark Sanchez will start and according to Kelly play a few series. Matt Barkley and Tim Tebow will share time after that.
“You’ll see a lot of Matt and Tim,” Kelly said before Friday’s training camp practice.
You won’t see Bradford, however, the quarterback the Eagles acquired from St. Louis for Nick Foles and a 2016 second-round pick.
“It was up to me,” Kelly said. “Sam is disappointed, he wanted to play. But I just felt this was best. He’s only been out here in 11 on 11 for a couple of weeks. We’ll get him out here next week against the Ravens.”
