EAGLES’ MATHIS, STILL ON TRADE BLOCK, A NO-SHOW AT TODAY’S OTA

By Mark Donovan

Not every Eagle is a happy camper with training camp less than two months away.

Take Evan Mathis.

If you can find him, that is.

Derrick Gunn of CSN Philly is reporting that Mathis was a no-show at today’s OTAs.

CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora had weighed in on Mathis’ situation after the NFL draft:

Chip Kelly has turned the page on Mathis it seems and at some point, whether it is this week or next week or week two of the preseason, someone will give him a late-round pick for Mathis, even though he has a big contract. Some contending team will lose an offensive lineman and Mathis can still play.

On May 2, Kelly spoke about Mathis’ status with the Eagles:

“Evan Mathis has been available for trade for two years, and there have been no offers.”
