Connor Barwin has become the adult in the room on the Eagles — there are other too, like Jason Kelce.
So, when he appeared this morning on Anthony Gargano’s show on 97.5 The Fanatic, and the convo turned to Shady McCoy and his racism charge against coach Chip Kelly, Barwin was matter of fact:
“Obviously, I think he said some things he probably wished he didn’t say and was upset about leaving Philly,” Barwin said. “Now, he’s just trying to avoid it, avoid talking about it and hoping that it disappears.
“I don’t know what he said the first time or yesterday, but apparently, whatever you talk about what he talked about, it’s a hot button for everybody to get in on. That’s why we’re talking about it.”
On Wednesday, McCoy threatened to end his press conference with Buffalo media during Bills OTAs when pushed to clarify his comments.
For his part, Kelly addressed McCoy’s assertions last week during his first media availability of OTAs saying “I think he’s wrong. We put a lot of time looking into character and factors that go into selection and retention of players. Color’s never been one of them.”
