Most of the Philly media must think slow-talking, slow-walking, slow-thinking Andy Reid is still the Eagles’ coach, even though he was fired after the 4-12 2012 season and replaced by Chip Kelly, who is the Andy-dote.
What other conclusion must one draw from the wild-ass, silly questions that the assembled press ask Kelly.
Here was the dumbest question asked at Kelly’s Friday morning presser:
I’m going to go back to this well. When you watch Sanchez ten years ago, did you ever at that time think about the possibility that your paths could cross at some point?
Yeah, I had it all mapped out actually. Seriously. I wrote it down. (Laughter) I said, ‘When I’m the head coach of the Eagles, I’m going to make sure I get that guy on my team.’ And then guy next to me was like, ‘You’re only the offensive coordinator at New Hampshire.’ I said, ‘Don’t worry about it. Minor details. But it’s going to work.’
You never know how your career’s going to progress?
Exactly. I had absolutely no idea. I didn’t think anything of it. I thought that kid’s a really good player. I think Stanford was there that day. Texas was there that day. USC was there that day. I wasn’t talking to him that day, I can tell you that. I was talking to some other guys.
