The Eagles won the 2016 NFL draft, mostly because they drafted Carson Wentz and not Jared Goff. But Carson enjoyed more success during his rookie season, winning big early, including a huge W over the Steelers. In fact, Wentz and the Eagles smoked Pittsburgh, 34-3. And then, perhaps, people got a little enthusiastic.
Don’t expect a sophomore slump from this guy, though. The Eagles went out and surrounded him with some talent at the receiver position in Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith. Whoa. Giving your second-year quarterback high-end NFL receivers. That’s just crazy. Who would ever do something like that?
