Don’t invite former Eagles Hugh Douglas and Donovan McNabb to the same party because:

“I don’t think that he was,” Douglas said yesterday on 97.5 the Fanatic, when asked if he believes McNabb is a Hall of Fame quarterback.

“I don’t think he is. Obviously, from the people that voted and the fact that he’s on the ballot, I think there’s a strong contingency that feels he is a Hall of Famer. That’s not me, hating on Donovan McMabb. That’s not having a dislike for Donovan McNabb. That’s just my honest opinion.”

McNabb never won a Super Bowl but did lead the Eagles to five trips to the NFC Championship Game and a berth in Super Bowl XXXIX during his 13-year career. From 1999 to 2011, McNabb passed for 37,276 yards with 234 touchdowns and 117 interceptions while completing 59.0 percent of his passes while a member of the Eagles, Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings.

McNabb ranks No. 22 all-time on the NFL’s passing list but his lack of a Super Bowl ring rankles Douglas, a member of the 2004 NFC Champion Eagles, when it comes to McNabb’s Hall of Fame candidacy.

“He had some great years with the Philadelphia Eagles,” Douglas said. My argument would be this; in this day and age, what is the criteria for quarterbacks that are going into the Hall of Fame? You have to win that Super Bowl. You have to win a Super Bowl.

“When you look at Donovan McNabb’s career, he had a hell of a run with Andy Reid. Everywhere else Donovan McNabb went, he didn’t play so well. If you want to look at the facts, that’s a fact. Donovan McNabb did not have great years or a great career outside of Philadelphia. He didn’t take the Redskins to the playoffs and he didn’t do anything for the Minnesota Vikings.”

After being traded by the Eagles prior to the 2010 season to the Washington Redskins, McNabb played just 19 more games as a member of the Redskins and Vikings completing 59.5 percent of his passes for 4,403 yards with 18 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

Douglas believes that McNabb’s success should always be tied to Reid’s tutelage.

“You can make an argument,” Douglas said. “That Donovan McNabb thrived under coach Reid’s system because coach Reid tailored his system to help Donovan McNabb thrive.”

Pystyisitkö joskus tekemään bloggauksen Punnitse & Säästä herkuista? Kotikaupunkiini on vähän aikaa sitten avattu Punnitse & Säästä ja tänään kävin poikaystäväni kanssa ensimmäistä kertaa ostoksilla. Mukaan tarttui spelttiluomutuotteita, sokeroimattomia kuivattuja hedelmiä, pähkinöitä, luomuteetä yms.Kuitenkin Punnitse & Säästä kaupastakin löytyy floppeja, kuten sokerilla ja suolalla päällystettyjä hei¤Ãmiä/pÃehkdnl¶itä. Voisitko tehdä bloggauksen terveellisistä Punnitse & Säästä tuotteista ja omista suosikeistasi? Helpottaisi kovasti asiointia kyseisessä kaupassa. 🙂
