The Sixers opened with a 102-92 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Salt Lake City Summer League.

And Ricky Council IV is the reason.

Council had 29 points and eight rebounds, 19 points of those in the fourth quarter.

Philadelphia received good contributions from rookies Jared McCain and Adem Bona, but Council took it home in the fourth to lead the Sixers to a win.

Council’s performance caught the eye of All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey who took to Twitter to react and give love to the second-year forward.

Council had a solid rookie season after going undrafted out of Arkansas and was able to earnfa standard NBA deal.
