CONTAINING MR. RODGERS: EAGLES COX AND LOGAN TURN UP THE HEAT!

By Julie Glass

The Packers’ Aaron Rodgers is having a very good year on a team that basically has no wide receivers or running backs to speak of.

But the key to an Eagles’ victory tonight is pressure.

One of the best ways to stop Rodgers is to collapse the pocket into his lap. Bennie Logan and Fletcher Cox will need to get immediate pressure to flush Rodgers out of the pocket to Brandon Graham and Connor Barwin (above) who will get pressure from the outside.

The instant pressure can limit his downfield passing ability because it eliminates his ability to step up in the pocket and throw vertical passes.

All quarterbacks are concerned about having space to throw the ball without banging their hand on an offensive linemen’s helmet.
