COME HOME KACIE, PHILLY WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!

And just like that, Kacie McDonnell is back on the market.

Former Fox29 traffic babe McDonnell and Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback Aaron Murray have broken off their engagement. Murray’s brother, Josh, and “Bachelorette” star Andi Dorfman, also announced about two weeks ago that they are no longer engaged.

McDonnell moved from Philly to Kansas City in August to be with Murray. They began dating in 2013. The news comes just a week after she posted this all-smiles photo on her Instagram.

“I’m loving my career in Kansas City,” McDonnell told the Inquirer. “I’m really committed to being a part of this community for the time being. The engagement is off. I wish him the best, it’s best to part ways. I’m moving on with my life.”

McDonnell joined KC’s Channel 41 last September as traffic reporter. A station promo played off her name and her new city’s name (Kacie/KC).

She is primarily seen on KSHB’s pre-“Today” morning show, the lowest-rated of the network affiliate morning shows in Kansas City. But clearly Channel 41 wants to change that. In an anchor shuffle about the same time McDonnell started, Lindsay Shively replaced JiaoJiao Shen as co-anchor with Patrick Fazio.

KSHB’s news director said last fall that McDonnell had also expressed interest in reporting for other Channel 41 broadcasts.

McDonnell came to Kansas City after two years as traffic reporter at Fox 29 in Philadelphia, where she was also a fill-in anchor and did sideline reporting at Eagles games. She’s a 2012 graduate of Villanova University.

McDonnell has more than 87,500 followers on Instagram and nearly60,000 on Twitter. If Twitter reaction is any indication, McDonnell has lots of fans in Philadelphia.
