The NFL ruled today that the hit Baltimore’s Terrell Suggs put on quarterback Sam Bradford in the Eagles preseason game Saturday night was legal, because Bradford was in the zone read and therefore as much of a running back as a quarterback.
No way, Chip Kelly said.
“It was just a handoff. We didn’t run any zone read,” Kelly said before the Eagles returned to practice at the NovaCare Complex. “We don’t run as much zone read as everyone thinks we do. He wasn’t reading anything, he was handing the ball off. I thought the ruling on the field was correct.”
