If the name Mark Whicker rings a bell, that’s because he was a great columnist for the Philly Daily News from 1982 to 1987, when print was king and Philly sports were a whole lot more interesting than they are now.
He’s now writing for the Los Angeles Daily News and Orange County Register.
So you might not be following him these days.
But you should, since he’s one of the best and loves to punch holes in hypocrites, especially faux LA guys likes Eagles washout Chip Kelly:
Chip Kelly unearthed the old argument that McCaffrey lost the Heisman because the West Coast games were on too late. It's still a crock and an insult to the voters. Trout, Kershaw, Bellinger, Doughty, Perry, Tejada, Lincecum, etc. all played past midnight ET and got their due.
