CHECK OUT EAGLE COACH CHIP KELLY’S SATURDAY PRESSER

Kelly referred to the Eagles offensive line as a “starting four”. That fifth spot, at right guard, is still an open competition and none of the players battling for the spot has taken over yet.

“We’d like to have it today,” Kelly said of finding that fifth starter between Matt Tobin, Andrew Gardner, John Moffitt and others. “It’s an ongoing battle. If it was today, we would have one of those guys would have jumped out in the first four days.

“We’d like to have it done sooner than later, but it has to be the right guy, the right fit. Continuity doesn’t matter if you have the wrong guy.

“We’re giving everyone ample opportunity. Again, there’s a huge difference between our training sessions and a game. You can get all jacked up about one guy and then you see him in a game and it’s not the same. That evaluation won’t be made until a couple of games.”
