Nova Nation can breathe easier this morning.
Senior guard Collin Gillespie and senior forward Jermaine Samuels will return to Villanova for a fifth season.
“It is going to be a blessing to put the Villanova uniform on for one last year and play for such an amazing university!” Gillespie tweeted. “I am very excited to get fully healthy again and continue to grow as a player, student and person.”
Gillespie tore his MCL against Creighton on March 3, ending his 2020-21 season. He averaged 14 points, 4.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds before the injury.
“There is nothing like playing Villanova basketball, wearing that V on my chest and playing for my teammates and coaches,” tweeted Samuels, who averaged 12 points and 6.4 assists last season.
