Temple takes it 5-10 season record and 4-10 conference mark into the American Athletic tourney tomorrow with a game against South Florida in Ft. Worth, Texas:.
Dates: March 11-14.
Favorite: Houston.
Other contenders: Wichita State, Memphis.
The Shockers hold the top seed, thanks to their home victory against Houston a couple of weeks ago. But the Cougars have the most league wins and spent most of the season ranked in the top 10. Fans of bubble teams from other conferences must hope one of those two claims the automatic bid, but Memphis, which nearly took down Houston over the weekend, could be a potential bid-stealer.
