BIG 3 OF JOJO, BEARD AND MAXEY LIFTING SIXERS TO TOP OF THE EAST

By Art Beitchman

The new-look Sixers with star guard James Harden running the point at the Wells Fargo Center was another success beating the NY Knicks 123-108, after a slow scoring star.

They were still able to top 120 to make it 3 in a row with The Beard in the starting lineup.

Joel Embiid is still getting his, but easier with Harden’s pinpoint passing.

And second year guard Trese Maxey has raised his game big time, becoming a reliable scorer in Harden’s first three games. In fact the new big three of Joel Embiid (27 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists), Harden (26 points, 9 assists, 9 rebounds) and Maxey (25 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists) are giving the Sixers enough firepower to win comfortably.

The Eastern Conference standings are also getting tighter with the Bulls and Heat losing this week. Head-to-head matchups with those teams this month will help determine who wins the East.

With 21 games left on the schedule, the 76ers are battling for that top spot down the stretch.
