Top seed Villanova will look to win its fourth straight Big East Tournament in five years after the tournament’s cancellation in 2020.
But they’ll be without Collin Gillespie, however, as the senior point guard is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a torn MCL. They may also be without sophomore guard Justin Moore, who suffered an ankle sprain in the team’s regular-season finale.
Two-seed Creighton split with Villanova, but how will the team play after coach Greg McDermott — who was suspended from all team activities after using racist verbiage following his team’s loss to Xavier — was reinstated by the university? UConn, returning to the conference after a seven-year stint as an AAC member, will vie for its first Big East conference title since 2011.
