The NFL draft isn’t a zero sum game.
That is, the Eagles got their man, DeVonta Smith, a primo wide receiver out of Alabama.
And Eagles fans can luxuriate in the schadenfreude experienced in Cowboys Nation — joy in the pain of others!
As Lindsay Jones of The Athletic wrote:
The Cowboys will say they’re thrilled to land Penn State’s Micah Parsons at No. 10; he was widely viewed as this year’s top linebacker, and the Cowboys have a need at inside linebacker with Sean Lee’s retirement.
But the Cowboys missed out on the top two cornerbacks, Jaycee Horn (Carolina, No. 8 and Patrick Surtain II (Broncos, No. 9).
Did Jerry and Stephen Jones misread the room? Did they assume one of those teams, likely the Broncos, would go offense?
