In 2015, the Eagles sat at No. 20 in the NFL draft, and lots of people —Mikey Miss and SalPal among them — wanted the Birds to “do the deal” and move up to draft Marcus Mariota out of Oregon.
After all, Chip Kelly was the Eagles coach and he had coached Mariota in college.
Never happened.
The Eagles took WR Nelson Agholor, who turned out to be a semi-bust.
Mariota was taken by Tennessee 2nd overall, and he has drifted to the Raiders and Falcons before he was signed last night to be Jalen Hurts’ back-up QB
