5TH SAVE FOR PHILS HOFFMAN, ERA DOWN TO 1.09, WATCH!

Jeff Hoffman closed out the Cardinals, protecting a two-run lead to in the ninth for his fifth save of the season.

The 31-year-old hurler came on with a two-run advantage to protect against the heart of the Cardinals’ lineup.

He made it look easy, getting Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Gorman on swinging third strikes before retiring Nolan Arenado on a fly ball to right to end it.

Hoffman has been outstanding out of the Phillies’ bullpen this season, posting a 1.09 ERA and a 32/7 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings of work.
