How meaningless are betting lines set on April 21 for games on Sept. 10?
Totally.
Especially when the NFL draft is still eight days away so you don’t really know the shape of the teams?
That hasn’t kept the smart guys in Vegas from posting lines, and in the lines for Week 1 of the NFL season, the Eagles are 1 1/2-point favorites on the road against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.
The Eagles finished last season with a 10-6 record, four games better than the Falcons finished at 6-10.
The over/under for the game is opening at 53.5 points.
