It may not be fair, but there will be calls for manager Joe Girardi’s job after the Phils blew a 7-1 lead in the 9th and lost to the Mets 8-7.
And I’m not sure they’ll be wrong.
He seems like a nice guys, but you know what they say about nice guys:
They finish last!

That one was May 10, 1994, vs. the Braves. Doug Jones and Heathcliff Slocumb let an 8-1 lead vanish in the 9th, and they lost in 15.
