Head coach Doug Pederson knows Staley well, Staley knows the scheme and he is respected by the players.
But Pederson passed over Staley for the offensive coordinator job when he hired Mike Groh, and Staley does not have the passing game background or experience working with quarterbacks that Pederson might covet.
However, if Staley is passed over for the coordinator job a second time, would he remain content? Or would he want to explore options elsewhere that could provide more growth opportunities?
