Two of them, actually. Two set points on Garbiñe Muguruza’s serve, two chances to get within striking distance of a sixth Wimbledon singles title and to become, at 37 years old, the oldest women’s singles champion of the modern era. The 23-year-old Muguruza wouldn’t have any of it, outlasting Williams in a long rally, then coming up with big serves in reeling off four straight points to knot the first set at 5-5. She never lost another game, as Williams spread errors all across Wimbledon’s grass, and Muguruza triumphed 7-5, 6-0:
