For the first time since 2008 and just the second time this century, the U.S. won the Ryder Cup, beating Europe, 17-11, at Hazeltine National Golf Club. The biennial contest ended in the seventh match on the 18th green, where Lee Westwood conceded a one-foot putt to Ryan Moore, securing the decisive point for the U.S.

On a week that began with the mourning of the death of Arnold Palmer, the celebration on the 18th green included some of the biggest names in American golf. One was Phil Mickelson (above), who at age 46 may have played in his final Ryder Cup. Others were vice captains, most notably Tiger Woods and Bubba Watson:
