To say that Temple has laid an egg in its first two ga,es this season is a massive understatement.
The Owls lost both games by a combined nine points and also they either tied or led in both fourth quarters.
Frank Nutile (above) has thrown four interceptions and four touchdowns and completed over 52% of his passes so far.
Temple has struggled on defense allowing 416 yards with 264 of that coming through the air and 151 coming on the ground. Ryquell Armstrong leads the team in rushing with 138 yards on 28 attempts with a 4.9 per carry average. Temple has gotten good kick returns however with Isaiah Wright averaging 21 yards per kick return.
Temple Owls (0-2) @ Maryland Terrapins (2-0)
September 15, 2018 12:00 PM ET (Maryland Stadium)
Spread: Maryland -14
Maryland has started the year under very difficult circumstances but on the field they managed to pull off one of the bigger upsets of 2018 with a win over Texas by a score of 34-29 and look to carry forward that momentum with Matt Canada still in an interim role.
Kasim Hill is under center as a freshman and showed great composure to finish off the victory against Texas in addition to not having turned over yet. Maryland broke the 400-yard rushing barrier in their 45-14 victory Bowling Green and had two runners over 100 yards. The Terrapins needed four touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull away as they even trailed late in the third quarter. Maryland’s 3rd down defense has been excellent holding opponents to just a 24% success rate.
