The Hawks will never die!

After stubbing their toe earlier this week against St. Bonaventure, DeAndre Bembry (above) scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Saint Joseph’s downed Fordham 82-60 .

Shavar Newkirk added 17 points and three rebounds for the Hawks (19-4, 8-2 Atlantic 10). Isaiah Miles and Lamarr Kimble had 13 points apiece. The team hit 51 percent from the field, 91.7 percent from the line and had a 41-28 rebounding edge over Fordham.

Newkirk, Kimble and Papa Ndao combined for eight 3-pointers in the first half and the Hawks took a 40-30 lead at halftime.

Fordham’s Joseph Chartouny sank a 3-pointer to start the second half but the Rams (12-9, 3-7) never threatened as Miles hit two consecutive 3-pointers and Newkirk sank a third to help stretch the Hawks lead to 65-44 with 10:04 to play.

Christian Sengfelder and Ryan Rhoomes scored 16 points apiece for the Rams.
