With the 76ers season suddenly headed south because of the untimely injury to Joel Embiid’s finger, something has to give with this current roster.
February 6 is the NBA trade deadline — only 22 days away — and here are some players they might look to make deals for.
Former NBA MVP Derrick Rose is wasting the tail end of his career in Detroit, scoring 18 PPG off the Pistons bench, and he could be a nice scoring punch that this club needs.
Guards Luke Kennard and Langston Galloway are also rumored to be shipped out of the Motor City before the deadline.
The Sixers have been extra awful shooting 3-balls since Embiid’s injury, and they might want to bring in some Kings sniper Bogdan Bogdanovic, who hits them at a 38.3 clip, just above the league average.
They can’t replace Embiid’s defense and rebounding, but another 3-ball upgrade could be the Wizards Davis Bertans, who shoots at 43.8%. Currently he’s dropping 15.4 PPG off Washington’s bench, and those points would be much needed until a healthy Embiid is ready to take his place at center for the 76ers playoff march.
