Sixers center Joel Embiid will take the court in anger for the first time in nine months tonight against the Nets in the team’s last exo before next week’s regular season.

He has extended to five-on-five scrimmages and now with a couple of practices he is ready to join the Sixers tonight.

Point guard Markelle Fultz is doubtful to play with right knee soreness.

Embiid was ecstatic with his contract extension and looking forward to proving himself this season after the latter part of 2016-17 was cut short due to injury.

“I think that was the best birthday gift ever,” said an overjoyed Embiid.

He averaged 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game through 31 games in his rookie season before having knee surgery last March.
