Forget talk of Sixers’ gloom and doom!

Coach Brett Brown confirmed yesterday that first overall pick Ben Simmons is scheduled to return in January.

“It’s not doom and gloom,” Brown told Philly.com. “Ben is coming back in January.  We are still trying to find information on Jerryd [Bayless]. Jahlil [Okafor]  is still trying to touch the court in his first preseason game.”

Simmons suffered a fracture in his right foot on Sept. 30, the final day of training camp. Bayless is sidelined with what the Sixers are calling a sore left wrist. Okafor has right knee soreness following surgery repair a torn right meniscus in his right knee.
