The Phillies are in Atlanta tonight, and their backs are against the wall, or some other cliche.

They’re five games behind the Chicago Cubs with only 14 to play:

3 at Braves, 3 at Indians, 5 at Nationals, 3 vs. Marlins

Already facing an uphill climb, the Phils get no help from the schedule.

They play 14 games in 13 days starting tonight, starting with a three-game set in Atlanta against a hot team fighting for home-field advantage.

You may think the Phillies would in good shape if they find themselves within striking distance entering the final weekend, but they’re just 7-9 against the Marlins this year.
