Hall of Fame coach Herb Magee added another milestone to his incredible career last night:
Career win No. 1,100 as the No. 23 Jefferson University Rams rolled over visiting Kutztown, 98-79.
Magee joins Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski as the only men’s coach, regardless of division, to reach 1,100 wins. He is 1,100-440 in 53 seasons, all at Jefferson.
The outcome was never in doubt. The Rams (4-0) scored the first six points of the game and raced to a 56-36 at halftime. Jefferson led by as many as 28 points.
Deondre Bourne led the way with 27 points. Josh Bradanese added 25 points and six rebounds. Kylan Guerra chipped in with 21 points, nine boards and three steals to make sure Magee reached the milestone with ease.
Wesley Butler led Kutztown with 19 points. Da’Quan Granberry (Chichester) pitched in with a career-high 18 points.
