Right-hander Jerad Eickhoff has a lat strain, which Phillies manager Gabe Kapler described this morning as “very mild,” and will miss a total of six to eight weeks. Kapler said Eickhoff is already a week into that timetable. The injury occurred in his last start, on the final few pitches he threw March 9 against the Pirates. Eickhoff will begin the season on the disabled list and he’ll have to restart his spring training program.
