Penn State is losing wide receiver KJ Hamler to the NFL Draft.

The redshirt sophomore from Michigan announced the news three days after the Lions topped Memphis 53-39 in the Cotton Bowl.

Hamler had two catches for 46 yards in the contest inside of AT&T Stadium. He then consulted with his family and also head coach James Franklin before making a decision to leave school early.

“The past 3 years at Penn State have been nothing short of amazing,” Hamler wrote in a statement posted to social media.

“My time here has an unforgettable experience and has prepared me for the next chapter in life. For that, I will be forever grateful.”
