Yesterday’s Blue and White Game at Penn State resulted in these three top stars:

1. QB TRACE MCSORLEY. The redshirt sophomore was sharp from start to finish, completing 23 of 27 for 281 yards and four touchdowns. (Now Trace, about that interception you threw to corner Amani Oruwariye in the first quarter …)

2. DT KEVIN GIVENS. Disruptive. That’s what the redshirt freshman is. The Lions’ White offensive line struggled all game with Givens, a 6-1, 270-pounder who was the talk of spring camp. He finished with 3.5 tackles for loss and two stacks.

3. TB MARK ALLEN. The Lions didn’t play standout Saquon Barkley so the bulk of the work went to Allen and Andre Robinson. Robinson scored a touchdown but Allen was very solid in the run game and as a receiver, carrying 14 times for 59 yards and adding five catches for 48 yards.
