In just 17 days, July 1, a long list of NBA players will file for free agency.
Of course the big fish will be LeBron James who is expected to opt out of his current contract with the Cavaliers, and the Sixers are obviously interested.
Heres’s a list of potential players the 76ers could sign…Plan A with LBJ…Plan B without…
LeBron James, Paul George, Chris Paul, DeMarcus Cousins, Clint Capela, DeAndre Jordan, Aaron Gordon, Tyreke Evans, Derrick Favors, Avery Bradley.
Plan “A”, King James, acknowledged as being the best player in the Association, makes the 76ers automatic NBA contenders.
Philly area native Tyreke Evans (above) , still only 28 years old who averaged 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists for the Grizzlies last season. Can either come off the bench when Robert Covington goes into his prolong shooting slumps, or replace him at the small forward spot.
Avery Bradley, good defensive player from the guard spot which the 76ers lacked in the 4-1 loss playoff series to the Celtics.
Plan “B”, without getting LBJ, go after PF Derrick Favors, at 6-10, 265 pounds, he has a rugged body on the boards he can give Joel Embiid some needed help as teams start to gang up on Jo Jo with his paint dominance going forward. Favors can also match-up defensively with Celtics PF Al Horford who no doubt will remain a thorn in the Sixers side in 2018-19 season.
These added combination of FA signings will give the Sixers added production off the bench, making the whole roster more formidable come playoff time when a deep bench can be the difference in a hard fought playoff series, either or, the team should be more solid after free agency and the draft.
