It’s been a while since the Eagles have had a big-play running back they could depend on.
Ever since Brian Westbrook departed to San Francisco seven years ago, the Red Zone has been the Bermuda Triangle for the Birds.
Ryan Mathews was supposed to be the answer, but he turned out to be way too fragile.
And now comes LaGarrette Blount.
He took nearly every first-team offensive snap at yesterday’s OTA, and you could close your eyes and see Marshawn Lynch!
At 6-0, 250 pounds, Blount is an imposing presence.
Hee scored 18 rushing touchdowns last season. Already a threat in short-yardage and near the goal-line, Blount could make a push to being a three-down running back for the Eagles.
