The Flyers had a successful 3-0-1 West Coast trip and they’re positioned well in the Metro Division.

But if you’re a Flyers junkie you’ve got to ask yourself:

Can a team with no real starting goalie make the playoffs?

The Flyers have already had four different goalies dress for their 15 games and three have seen action.

One of those three, Cal Pickard, wasn’t even there for training camp. He was plucked off waivers before the Flyers started their season and he’s played well in his last two games, a big performance with Brian Elliott unable to dress Monday night thanks to a hit to the head and Michal Neuvirth on injured reserve due to the “lower-body injury” that just won’t go away.

“Yeah it’s good to get into a rhythm for sure,” Pickard said after making 34 saves in the Flyers’ 5-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes. “I think that was my fourth or fifth game now and fourth start so it’s good to get a little more comfortable and I thought my last two were my best two so far. I just gotta build off that. Enjoy this one tonight and then back to work when we get back to Philly.”
