“That is definitely my goal. Timetables and all those things are always such a fluid thing,” Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz said on 94WIP this morning when asked about his rehab from major knee surgery and whether he’d be back for Week 1 in September. “Obviously can’t come out and make a declaration on anything, but my goal is to be playing in Week 1.”

Wentz has been rehabbing his torn ACL and LCL since he suffered the injury in the Eagles’ Week 14 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

“So far everything has been great,” Wentz said. “It is obviously still early, just progressing through and everything looks good.”

“It is definitely not fun. Nobody enjoys rehab. It can be a long process. Unfortunately, but fortunately, I’ve got a handful of guys in there as well. Great guys, great teammates,” Wentz joked. “The same way I do everything in life, I am going to attack it, and I have no worries and no fears it won’t get better.”

Wentz sounded like he wasn’t going to change his style.

“I definitely won’t change, so to speak. That has what made me successful this last season and my whole career,” Wentz said. “It is something I’ve learned since coming into the league — how to protect myself … I am not going to let this change me.”

“We bought in, believed in each other,” Wentz said of this past season. “In the playoffs, everyone wrote us off. But we loved that and fed off that. And here we are, world champs.”
