Ex-Temple coach Matt Rhule, who just finished his first season as the head coach at Baylor, interviewed with the Colts for the head coaching position vacated by the departure of Chuck Pagano, according to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.
Rhule’s first season with Baylor yielded lackluster results on the field, but provided hope for the future and a stout recruiting class. He has some NFL experience as an assistant offensive line coach for the New York Giants in 2012.
Rhule also has a track record of turning programs around. He turned a 2-10 record in his first season as head coach at Temple in 2013 into back-to-back 10-win seasons in 2015 and 2016.
He has an overall collegiate head coaching record of 29-34 that is blemished by a 1-11 showing in his first year at Baylor.
